The New Sea-Tribe 300

The newly launched Sea-Tribe 300, boat just in time for the 2009 Durban Boat Show.
She’s beautiful, with a lot of small changes/improvements aside from the major
changes (wheel steering and twin motors).
The new portlight side windows add a lot to the lines and look of the boat.

We've improved the design of the netting area and walkway this time round.
The anchor chain is led through the walkway which goes into a chain locker
behind the sloping fwd bridgedeck piece. The netting itself is Dyneema mesh,
really soft and comfortable, with a 10mm weave/grid. The forward beam
dolphin striker is a bit higher than the last one, to accommodate the extra height
on the 12m mast.

The bimini includes a solid walkway and improved framework design.

Top-end deck hardware - all Harken, except the rope clutches which are Spinlock.

The new steering console.

All the wood trim on the boat is mahogany.

The galley area up front has been cut down - it opens the whole area up and gives it
a much more spacious feel. The front door / cover also serves as a free-standing table.

And the seat cuts - they look great, much roomier and easier to access. The motors
are housed in the aft seats and drop in from the top. Fuel tanks are also in these seats.

This pic of the boat on the launching dolley shows what we've done with the motor
housings. We have made the curved areas underneath too narrow for the motors to
be taken out from below, as an anti-theft measure - a big problem with outboard
motors in many locations.

The hydraulics lines lead to 'quick-release' fittings at the hulls, up under the beam
hidden by the bridgedeck back. The hydraulics system is from HyDrive (Australian)
and incorporates rudder feed-back to the helm.

Marine heads instead of the porta potties - this one (stb. hull) goes into a holding tank,
and the port hull heads goes straight out.
